The Lord Gives Solomon Wisdom

1:1 Solomon son of David solidified his royal authority, ¹  for ²  the Lord his God was with him and magnified him greatly.

2 Tawarikh 1:8

1:8 Solomon replied to God, “You demonstrated ³  great loyalty to my father David and have made me king in his place.

2 Tawarikh 1:13

1:13 Solomon left the meeting tent at the worship center in Gibeon and went to Jerusalem, where he reigned over Israel. ⁴

Solomon Gathers Building Materials for the Temple

2:1 (1:18) ⁵  Solomon ordered a temple to be built to honor the Lord, as well as a royal palace for himself. ⁶

8:1 After twenty years, during which Solomon built the Lord’s temple and his royal palace,

8:12 Then Solomon offered burnt sacrifices to the Lord on the altar of the Lord which he had built in front of the temple’s porch. ⁹

8:17 Then Solomon went to Ezion Geber and to Elat on the coast in the land of Edom.

9:3 When the queen of Sheba saw for herself Solomon’s extensive wisdom, ¹⁰  the palace ¹¹  he had built,

9:31 Then Solomon passed away ¹²  and was buried in the city of his father David. His son Rehoboam replaced him as king.
